Toyota Hybrid for Everyone at Penn Toyota | Black Toyota Tundra Driving on Dirt Road

The Tundra Hybrid

Toyota has really spiced up the Toyota Tundra, with a full redesign and newly introduced hybrid drivetrain option. This full-sized pickup is sporting Toyota’s new i-FORCE MAX powertrain, a twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 437 horsepower and 583 lb/ft of torque. The replacement of the 5.7 liter V8 with the 3.5 liter V6 engine has greatly improved the efficiency of the Tundra which is multiplied further by its new hybrid drivetrain. With the extra weight of the electric components, the towing capacity of the Tundra Hybrid maxes out at 11,450lbs which is just about 550lbs lower than that of its gas counterpart. On the plus side, the extra weight provided by the hybrid powertrain seems to provide the Tundra with better handling and control.

The massive redesign of the Tundra continues with a major upgrade in its technology and safety features. The new Tundra comes standard with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the exciting new Google cloud based system that is accessed through the voice command, “Hey Toyota”. The Tundra offers an 8-inch touchscreen display in all of its standard trims, with the option to upgrade to the 14-inch display that comes standard in the higher trim levels. Toyota strategically designed the Tundra’s display screen in a horizontal manner to avoid the safety issues caused by the vertical display in many of its competitors. The new Tundra design also includes a variety of driver assistance systems to ensure a safe driving experience. Some of these safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning and adaptive cruise control.

Between the increased power, the added handling and efficiency, and the technological upgrades of the Tundra Hybrid, it is hard to find any flaws. If you are in the market for an upgraded full-sized hybrid pickup, then the Toyota Tundra Hybrid might just be the perfect vehicle for you.

The Camry Hybrid

An all-around winner, at home on the streets of a small town or taking on the busy roads of the big city, it doesn’t get much better than the Toyota Camry Hybrid. There are 5 trim levels to choose from for the new model: the Camry Hybrid LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, and XSE. Each offers different standard features that go from basic to luxury, so drivers can match their Camry Hybrid to their budget and preferences.

At up to 51 MPG city and 53 MPG highway, it still provides some of the best fuel efficiency of any large sedan, hybrid or non-hybrid. Agile and responsive handling, a sleek and muscular appearance, and excellent ride quality make for a family sedan that is destined to impress.

What makes it even better is Toyota’s devotion to standardizing safety. The Toyota Safety Sense™ suite is standard on every Camry Hybrid and includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The NHTSA gave it a 5 out of 5-star overall safety rating. The Camry Hybrid isn’t just about keeping the environment safe, but also keeping your loved ones safe when behind the wheel.
